So, yeah, went to Anime Expo this year. My brother and I cosplayed as Tobi and Deidara all four days and got some nice compliments. Didn't do much the first day. We arrived sooner than last year, definitly, and traffic wasn't very bad. But we still missed some stuff. We went to some Glowsticking panel that didn't turn out as we had expected. Left that and headed for the Chibi Masquerade. It wasn't as great as last year's but it was still okay. There were some good cosplays, and the guy directing it all was pretty funny. And there was a Kenny! And an Awesome-O! Never saw them after that, though. We ended up missing the Gurren Lagann movie, sadly. -sigh-
Second day wasn't very exciting. Though I did get to meet
Third day Tobi and I had planned to see Ouran, but went to the FMA gathering instead and took some good pics. There was a Maes Hughes with an Alicia picture! How purely epic is that?! Then went to the Naruto gathering. By that time my camera was nearly full of pictures and video so I could only take, like, three pictures. Damn. And there were some really good cosplays! After that we went back to the hotel, downloaded the pictures, and headed back in time to see IGPX, which was, like, my favorite anime before it got cancelled. We got there early so we ended up watching another anime as well. To say it as bluntly as I can...it sucked. Tried to go to Copic Markers afterward but -sigh- the room filled up. Bumped into some people we'd been seeing practically every day, hung out with them, went to some Naruto meet-up in a hall, ended up breaking my shoe dancing to Sailor Fuku or whatever the hell it's called, then went to the Gaia Panel. I asked...a fairly stupid question, mainly because, I don't know, it was kind of expected considering I was dressed as DeiDei. -sigh- Went back to the hotel after that and fixed my shoe. Huzzah for super glue!
Fourth and final day! Basically didn't do much. Ran into someone from school then went to the Dealer's hall to get Naruto volume 39 (which I had been searching for for a while), a Deidara and Sasori figurine, and some art from Artists Alley. Bumped into some people we kept seeing, like an Itachi and Sasori, and hung out with them. Soon the group found more members, like a Naruto and Sakura and others. We all headed over to a Shonen Jump gathering but we were too late to catch the Naruto pictures. Got some good pics, though. After that we tried to go to this Zelda Mythbusters thing, but it filled up before we could get it. The line was friggin' HUGE, dude! After that disappointment, well, we just hung out with the guys we'd met earlier. I became somewhat of a SasoDei fan for, maybe, an hour or something. I guess I'm only a fan of it if it's cosplay. Then the Closing Ceremonies then everyone got kicked out by security, which was kinda rude. Unfortunately that meant it was time to say goodbye to AX.
Then I got sick. *cough* *cough* I've been sick for the past two days, most likely from hanging around more than 44,000 people! Holy fucking SHIT, dude! Still, last year I think was better. There weren't as many CaramellDansens this year, nor as many "The cake is a lie!" "I lost the game," seemed to be the "in" saying this year. Didn't end up spending as much money as last year. Will definitly attend next year. And maybe ALA if things go well.
